Most Dublin homes heat water with an immersion, a hot water cylinder in the hot press, or a pump feeding the shower. When one of them fails you either get no hot water, lukewarm water, or a shower that's suddenly gone to a dribble. We find which part has gone and get it working again fast.
What we fix
- Burnt-out immersion elements and failed immersion thermostats
- Leaking or corroded hot water cylinders
- Weak showers caused by a failed or airlocked pump
- Water that's scalding hot or never hot enough
- Noisy, banging or slow-to-heat cylinders
Signs your cylinder or immersion is on the way out
- Hot water runs out far quicker than it used to
- Rusty or discoloured water from the hot taps
- Damp or a small pool of water around the cylinder in the hot press
- The immersion keeps tripping the fuseboard
Repair or replace?
We'll always tell you straight. A new element or thermostat is a cheap fix and worth doing on a sound cylinder. But if the cylinder itself is corroded and leaking, throwing parts at it is a false economy, and we'll quote you for a modern, better-insulated replacement that costs less to run.
What it costs
| Job | Typical price |
|---|---|
| Immersion element or thermostat | from €140 |
| Shower or hot water pump replacement | from €220 |
| Hot water cylinder replacement | quoted on site |
Where we cover
We repair hot water systems across Dublin, including Rathmines, Clontarf and Dún Laoghaire. Send us your Eircode to confirm.
Who this isn't for
Gas boiler servicing and repairs are separate work. We're RGII registered, so if the issue turns out to be your boiler rather than the cylinder, we can talk you through it, but full boiler servicing is booked as its own job.
